Dr. David Myers
Director of Services
Dr. David Myers co-founded EduLink, Inc. with Dr. Reed Hankinson. The two met in 1995, while both teaching at Gateway School District in Pittsburgh, PA. They both started their doctoral program together in 1997 and incorporated EduLink, Inc. in 1998. While pursuing their Doctorate degrees at Duquesne University, they found there was a deep need for a recruiting tool for Teachers seeking employment. They worked tirelessly in their spare time to develop a web-based software tool, called TeacherLink USA to assist teachers looking for teaching positions in Pennsylvania.
Dr. Myers and Dr. Hankinson, both taught for many years, while simultaneously continuing to build cutting edge software tools, specifically tailored to the unique needs of the education market. Their first-hand knowledge and expertise as teachers themselves, helped them build and develop highly refined tools like PA-ETEP, a teacher evaluation tool aligned specifically to the State of Pennsylvania guidelines; Comply, a tool that helps track and manage all compliance related items; Act 48 Credit Keeper which tracks continuing education hours, required for all teaching professionals; and MyRegistrar, an online course selection/registration tool used by colleges and universities, intermediate units and school districts.
Dr. Myers started his career at Pine Richland School District. He then moved to Gateway School District and worked as a special education teacher, reading specialist, data coordinator, and curriculum coordinator. Dr. Myers earned his BS in Psychology from Virginia Tech. He then earned his Master’s Degree in Special Education at James Madison University and his doctorate in educational leadership from Duquesne. With the dramatic growth of EduLink, Dr. Myers eventually left teaching to focus on the development of the company.
EduLink, Inc has become one of the most highly regarded education software companies in the state of Pennsylvania. PA-ETEP is used by over 440 school districts and 100,000 educators; making it the number one evaluation management tool in the State. The company prides itself on keeping a finger on the pulse of what the education world needs and follows through with comprehensive research that results in the most innovative software tools that answer those needs.
Dr. Hankinson and Dr. Myers are passionate about their work and appreciative of the results. To that end, philanthropy has become a natural part of the corporate culture at EduLink. The company supports an orphanage for abandoned and abused children in Uganda, called Malayaka House; Mission to El Salvador, which helps people suffering from addiction and homelessness; Clear Thoughts Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to funding a treatment for dementia; “A Night to Remember,” an evening of dancing and fun for people ages 16-40 with developmental, physical and mental delays; as well as several other important causes.
